Double contract success for Eurovia to deliver highway maintenance services in the United Kingdom

- 4,400km of roads, 981 bridges, 3.9 million m2 of footway and 38,000 street lights
- Two contracts for an initial period of 5 years with options to extend for 2 additional years with a value of at least €100 million (£76 million)
Ringway, a Eurovia subsidiary in the United Kingdom which is dedicated to Highway services and a leading Company in long-term highway maintenance services, has been announced as Preferred Bidder for the Wiltshire and Swindon Highway Services Contracts, 2 Councils in the Southwest of England.
This five-year mandate, with an option to renew for two years, represents a value of at least €100 million (£76 million).
Starting April 1, 2016, Ringway will ensure various highway maintenance services to a population of nearly 650,000 in Wiltshire and Swindon. For the Wiltshire Council, Ringway will provide a complete range of preventive maintenance and repair services. These services include emergency response, winter service, bridge repairs and maintenance, and street lighting services. The Contract will also see the reinstatement of 20 Parish Stewards who will provide dedicated reactive and routine services in the community. For the Swindon Council, Ringway will deliver a preventive maintenance programme and scheme, including surfacing of carriageways and footways.
After managing two contract terms from 1998 to 2012, Ringway is very pleased to have won back the trust of the Wiltshire and Swindon Councils, while transferring staff from the incumbent supplier.
Global maintenance and upkeep service for transport infrastructures is one of Eurovia’s four business lines. Worldwide, Eurovia manages and maintains 70.000 km of road systems under long-term contracts.
