The Fondation VINCI pour la Cité celebrates 10 years of solidarity actions

26 June 2012 - Sustainability

The Fondation VINCI pour la Cité was created in May 2002 as a result of the VINCI Group’s wish to make a long-term contribution to the lives of the people in the cities and regions where it designs, finances, builds and manages many different types of infrastructure.

The foundation is a link between VINCI Group employees, through skills volunteering, and organisations working in the social sector. It helps people who are excluded from the labour market to find employment and promotes solidarity in the community and social links. For the past 10 years, the Fondation VINCI pour la Cité has shown that a partnership between the business and social sectors is not only possible but is also an effective way of combating exclusion.

In the space of 10 years, the foundation has supported more than 1,000 social integration and workforce development projects, sponsored by almost 1,300 VINCI Group employees and providing €17 million in grants. It is one of France’s largest private foundations, both in terms of its financial resources and the number of projects it supports.

This tenth anniversary is being celebrated with many events around France, organised in June by foundation sponsors with the non-profits they assist. A dedicated website, www.vinci-foundation.com/10years/, looks back at 10 years of solidarity actions and of combating all forms of exclusion.
