VINCI declared preferred bidder for future Olympic Nice Stadium

The city of Nice has just declared Nice Eco Stadium, the consortium led by VINCI Concessions in association with Caisse des Dépôts and SEIEF, the preferred bidder for the 30-year PPP contract to design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the future 35,000-seat Olympic Nice Stadium. The French National Sports Museum, currently located in Paris, will be relocated to this new sports complex. The PPP also includes the development and commercialisation of a real estate program with a net floor area of nearly 29,000 sq. m.

The stadium will be designed and built by a consortium comprising VINCI Construction France, via its local subsidiaries Dumez Côte d’Azur, GTM TP Côte d’Azur, TRIVERIO Construction and Campenon Bernard Sud Est, and Nice-based companies including Garelli. The consortium will be supported by architecture agency Wilmotte & Associés, in collaboration with STADIA Consulting Group and consultants IOSIS and EGIS.

The stadium will be operated by Nice Eco Stadium, with upkeep and maintenance entrusted to VINCI Facilities companies.

VINCI Immobilier will be responsible for developing and commercialising the real estate programme for Nice Eco Stadium.

The Olympic Nice Stadium multi-sports infrastructure will also host shows and events and will be the first landmark structure of the Nice Eco Valley scheme, which was declared a Project of National Interest (OIN) in March 2008. The stadium’s design reflects a pro-active approach to sustainable development and notably boasts the world’s largest wooden structure. It will be one of the first stadiums completed for the Euro 2016.

VINCI has operated the Stade de France under a concession contract since 1998. The group is also the concession-holder, since 2008, for the future MMArena stadium in Le Mans, France. These projects reflect VINCI’s capacity to develop solutions and cater for the needs of public authorities in large-scale sports facilities.
