VINCI wins the construction contract for four Paris Rive Gauche campus buildings as part of a PPP

The University of Paris Diderot-Paris 7 has awarded a 30-year
partnership contract to the UNICITE consortium made up of VINCI
Construction France subsidiaries, GDF-Suez (Cofely), Barclays Private
Equity and FIDEPPP (Caisses d’Epargne). The contract covers
financing, design, construction and maintenance of four new buildings
at the university’s new Paris Rive Gauche campus in the
city’s 13th arrondissement.
The total value of the partnership contract is €273 million,
of which €108 million for the design and construction of
buildings with a combined surface area of 44,600 sq. metres.
The works, which are scheduled to take 33 months to complete, will be
carried out by VINCI Construction France subsidiaries GTM
Bâtiment and Sicra. Construction will be to Very High Energy
Performance standards, with particular attention to optimising facade
design, solar protection and water management.
At the start of the 2012 school year, these new buildings will
accommodate over 10,000 students, faculty, research workers and
administrative and technical staff.
With this new partnership, VINCI Construction France confirms its
expertise in PPP contracts and its ability to provide global integrated
offerings.
