" Europe Special" programmes on Autoroute FM and Radio Trafic FM (107.7), VINCI's motorway radio station
11 July 2008 - Events - France
With the French Presidency of the European Union getting under way, the VINCI Group's motorway subsidiary operators (ASF, Cofiroute and ESCOTA) are marking the occasion by flying the European flag. Since 1st July, they broadcast special programmes on Autoroute FM (AFM) and Radio Trafic FM (RTFM) their radio stations.
These stations, targeted at the 4,373 km of motorway operated by VINCI in France, have added five new weekly "European" programmes to their schedules. These will enable listeners to learn more about Europe, understand the issues of the French EU Presidency and, above all, find out more about the 27 Member States.
• Un pays dans l’Union (An EU country) will provide a portrait of each of the 27 Member States over the 27 weeks of the French Presidency, with a particular focus on transport and road safety issues.
• L’Europe en clair (Europe explained) takes an educational approach, explaining, in partnership with the Robert Schuman Foundation, the role of Europe, how it works and how it is developing (the Europe of Defence, the Mediterranean Union…)
• Trois questions à… (Three questions to…) features interviews with leading European players: Jacques Barrot, European Commissioner for Justice and Home Affairs, Yves-Thibaud de Silguy, Chairman of VINCI and former European Commissioner, Hervé Morin, French Minister of Defence, Jean-Pierre Jouyet, French Minister for European Affairs…
• La France vue d’Europe (France viewed by Europe) reveals France as seen through the eyes, and experiences, of European holidaymakers. They express their views on road safety in France, and on French drivers.
• The sustainable development programme Et vous que faites-vous pour la planète ? (And you what are you doing for the planet?) sheds light on environmental issues at the European level (What is the Ecolabel? Is there any prospect of a European "Green Summit"?…).
And finally, to the strains of the European anthem, AFM and RTFM will greet European holidaymakers with welcome messages in five languages, with RTFM providing its information on traffic conditions and safety in English and Italian.
With this initiative coinciding with the French Presidency of the European Union, VINCI is once again demonstrating its commitment to both the community and Europe.
