29 January 2008 - Projects update and handover - The Netherlands
VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Entrepose Contracting, filiales de VINCI, which are members of a consortium with Techint (Italy) and Sener (Spain), have just received instructions to begin work on construction of the regasification terminal in the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands for Gate Terminal BV.
The contract, representing a total investment of €800 million, comprises the construction of a regasification plant, a methane carrier unloading jetty and three storage tanks. It was signed on 19 July 2007 and work is scheduled for completion in September 2011.
Under the contract, VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Entrepose Contracting will design and build the three liquefied natural gas storage tanks with a capacity 180,000 cubic metres each.
VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Entrepose Contracting possess acknowledged and complementary expertise in the construction of liquefied natural gas storage tanks. Together or separately they have already built more than 30 tanks in 9 countries over the past 20 years. This business success illustrates the potential for synergies between VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Entrepose Contracting, in which VINCI now holds 77.24% of the capital.
