Works on the Constantine Bridge
1 June 2014 - Projects update and handover - Algeria
Since May 2012, Freyssinet (Soletanche Freyssinet/VINCI Construction) has been participating in the construction of the Constantine Bridge, the second cable-stayed bridge in Algeria. This 1,150 m-long structure has a span of 259 m, and will provide a crossing between the two banks of the city. It is supported by 64 cables supplied by Freyssinet, their strands weighing about 400 t. Freyssinet is also supplying and providing technical support for the installation of 367 t of longitudinally and transversally prestressed elements, as well as Freyssibars (about 19 t) to reinforce the tall towers (height: 130 m). Handover of this bridge is expected in the course of 2014.
