Work starts on the deck slab for the Langeais viaduct on the A85

Eurovia Béton, in a joint venture with ETPO, has started assembling the deck slab (the reinforced concrete slab that sits on the girders and supports the roadway) of the Langeais viaduct on the A85, the motorway connecting Tours and Angers of which VINCI Autoroutes is the concessionaire.

Seventeen prefabricated slab segments forming part of the future deck slab will be mounted on the steel structure using a crane, with mobile equipment then being used to tackle the rest of the structure.

These works are being undertaken within the framework of the widening of three viaducts, two of these projects having been entrusted to the ETPO - Eurovia Béton - Eurovia Tours - Baudin Châteauneuf joint venture – an illustration of the synergies that exist between the different areas of expertise of Eurovia entities.

Handover of these structures, designed to improve both traffic flow and road safety, is scheduled for early 2020.
