Water protection works on the A10
15 December 2017 - Projects update and handover - France
Until the end of December 2017, a Eurovia joint venture composed of Cognac TP (leader), Eurovia Niort and SEC TP will be working on a section of the A10 motorway (VINCI Autoroutes, ASF network) by the Niort Sud exit (western France) – an area where the water resources have been identified as being extremely vulnerable.
The aim is to improve the protection of the aquatic environment by creating basins for the retention and treatment of runoff water from the motorway platform. The teams will create eight water treatment basins, renew and/or restructure the surface drainage network, bring the lane widths and the emergency call network into line with standards and overhaul the signage and safety equipment.
At peak times some 120 people are working on the site, where Signature Poitiers (Eurovia) is supplying the reflection posts, road signs and steel safety barriers.
Handover of the works is scheduled for early January 2018.
