VINCI to operate London stadium
20 March 2015 - New contracts - United Kingdom
On 30 January 2015, E20 Stadium LLP awarded VINCI Stadium, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, the service concession contract for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Stadium in London, a 60,000-seater facility located in the east of the British capital. Currently undergoing transformation, the stadium will be temporarily opened in 2015 to welcome the Rugby World Cup and then permanently reopened in 2016 as the home of its future resident club, West Ham United FC, and as a venue for the annual IAAF Diamond League athletics championships and those organised each summer by UK Athletics (UKA). In 2017, the stadium will, in addition, host the World Championships in Athletics and the IPC Athletics World Championships. The 25-year contract awarded to VINCI Stadium covers the operation, upkeep and maintenance of the stadium and coordination of part of the park around the stadium during the various sporting events.
