Viggianello Tunnel

The territorial collectivity of Corsica has just appointed Soletanche Bachy Tunnels, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), in a consortium with the companies Pizzarotti Spa, Natali, Roch Leandri and SCAE, to build the Viggianello Tunnel, on the RN196, near Propriano (southern Corsica). The contract includes the earthworks, and driving and lining the 420 m-long tunnel, created using traditional methods (explosives), as well as supplying the reinforced concrete structure of the ”caps” (tunnel entries) and the technical areas. The works will take 22 months as of August 2013.
