Undergrounding of power lines for the SuedOstLink project

VINCI Construction GeoInfrastructure has been asked by TenneT to undertake civil engineering works for the SuedOstLink project between Marktredwitz and Pfreimd in Bavaria (Germany).

Earthworks and burial of the sheaths will be carried out from end August 2024 to December 2026 – with the help of Spiecapag and HDI, both VINCI Construction subsidiaries – over almost 90 km, together with the access paths required for the works. Then, from December 2026 to May 2028, further digging and access works will be carried out to lay the four 525 kV direct-current cables in the sheaths. Trenchless techniques will be used, in particular directional drilling, to allow clearing of obstacles (wet zones, waterways, biotopes) and limit the environmental footprint of the operations. The materials extracted from the trenches will be reused as much as possible to limit waste disposal operations and recourse to quarry materials.
