Trams return to Le Havre
21 January 2013 - Events - France
The first tram line in Le Havre (Normandy), featuring 23 stops along its 13.5 km route, was inaugurated on 12 December 2012. The urban community of Le Havre had awarded the contract for the platform and overhead contact line to a consortium composed of ETF-Eurovia Travaux Ferroviaires, leader, Eurovia Haute-Normandie's Le Havre office and Cegelec (VINCI Energies), in collaboration with Giffard Génie Civil (Eurovia). Cegelec Mobility (VINCI Energies GSS), in a joint venture with Cegelec Sandouville Travaux (VINCI Energies France), was notably responsible for the traction energy installation works, incorporating an innovative system for recovering the energy generated during tram braking operations. Citéos Rouen and Forlumen Réseaux (VINCI Energies France), meanwhile, undertook the urban lighting and traffic lights works packages.
Worth €90m to the Group, the works lasted two years.
