14 September 2012 - Projects update and handover - France

On 6 July 2012, the 18 km stretch of the A63 motorway between Ondres and Biarritz (south-west France), now widened from 2x2 to 2x3 lanes, was opened to traffic by ASF (VINCI Autoroutes) after just three seasons of works, instead of the four initially scheduled. With ASF's Anglet Operations Department and the Infrastructure Construction and Maintenance Department as the contracting authority, this operation was carried out by a consortium comprising Eurovia GPI (leader), VINCI Construction Terrassement and Dodin Campenon Bernard (VINCI Construction). Eurovia GPI was charged with coordinating the works, and supplying the pavements and drainage together with its subsidiary Cognac TP. Dodin Campenon Bernard in association with Sogea Sud-Ouest TP and GTM Sud-Ouest TP GC (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries) built some of the engineering structures. The earthworks were supplied by VINCI Construction Terrassement, which also participated in the creation of the drainage and of engineering structures. The overall budget for the operation, comprising widening the motorway, building and extending the three toll plazas, refurbishment works at the rest and service areas and the creation of the A63-A64 fork, was €700m.
