1 January 2014 - Projects update and handover - France

The foundation stone for the new technical facilities platform at the teaching hospital (CHU) in Fort-de-France (Martinique) was laid on 22 November 2013. Awarded on a design-build basis to a consortium notably comprising Sogea Martinique (leader) and SIMP (both VINCI Construction Dom-Tom subsidiaries), for the construction, and Cegelec Projets Caraïbes (VINCI Energies France) for the climate control and electrical side, the project concerns the construction of a new 40,000 sq. metre hospital building. In order to ensure the establishment can continue to function in the event of an earthquake, the building’s structure will rest on 350 insulators that totally decouple it from its foundations.
Contract value: about €110m.
