Strengthening and widening airport runways

On Reunion Island, SBTPC (VINCI Construction), as part of a consortium, has just launched a project to strengthen and widen the runways at the main airport, Roland Garros, located in the north of the island. Undertaken on behalf of the Société AéroportRoland Garros, the works involve widening the shoulders of the two runways (a distance of 7.50 km) as well as reprofiling and reinforcing the runways by applying 110,000 t of mix. The project also includes drainage works and earthworks on the airport platform, and supplying the lighting and day marking.
The works will take 14 months.
Total contract value: €40m, of which €12.3m for SBTPC.
