Integrated Health Projects (IHP), a joint venture between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, has just been awarded the construction of a mental health inpatient unit in Blackpool, North-West England. Undertaken on behalf of the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, the works start in April 2013; the unit is due to open in spring 2015. The 12,647 sq. metre building will be able to accommodate 154 patients and will include a psychiatric intensive care unit.
Contract value: £40m (about €47.3m).
