Late November saw Bitumix (Eurovia) complete its refurbishment of Calle Placer, in Santiago: located in the oldest part of the Chilean capital, this street has been totally reorganised to become an exclusively pedestrian area at weekends. The pavements have been widened and tiled, a special route for visually impaired people has been provided, and Bitumix has also installed 36 street lamps and 120 sets of pedestrian lights and upgraded garden areas alongside the roadway.
