9 February 2016 - Projects update and handover - Tunisia

As part of a project being undertaken on behalf of the national oil distribution company at Gabès (east coast of the country), teams from Entrepose Contracting (VINCI Construction) are currently packing sand around six LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) storage spheres, which have been brought in from France where they were manufactured by Entrepose Industries in Dunkirk. The sand, which provides mechanical protection, is filled into the space between the steel sphere and its concrete enclosure. Some 5,000 t of sand is required for each sphere, each with a storage capacity of 4,000 cu. metres.
