Roof of the new train station in Montpellier
1 May 2016 - New contracts - France
Méditerranée Préfabrication, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction France, has been awarded a contract to manufacture the 115 ultra-high performance palm tree-like elements in ultra-high performance fibre concrete that will form the roof of the new TGV train station in Montpellier (south of France). Each of these elements, 17 m in length and weighing an average of 10 t, will be post-tensioned before being placed in position 11 m above ground level.
Located on the new Nîmes-Montpellier high-speed line, the future station will become the new multimodal transport hub in the Odysseum neighbourhood, in the east of the city.
Value of the works: €4m.
