Roadworks in Burundi

Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction) has just been awarded the second phase of the works on the RN 15, between Gitega and Ngozi (81 km). This contract, valued at €32.7m (with funding coming from the African Development Fund), concerns the 51 km section between Gitega and Nyangungu. The works will be completed within 22 months; they involve creating a surfaced road with two shoulders, as well as a lorry park in Gitega. The contract provides for over 950,000 cu. metres of earthworks, and the construction of three concrete bridges. Over the period 2011-2013, Sogea-Satom had implemented the first phase of this project.
