21 January 2013 - New contracts - France

In Lyon (central France), on the project to bring the Croix-Rousse tunnel up to current standards, work started in November 2012 on the rehabilitation of the road tunnel and the five ventilation stations connected to it. Inside the tunnel, which will remain closed until summer 2013, there will be asbestos removal and demolition works, carried out by CMS, Delair CFD (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries) and Cardem Lyon (Eurovia), civil engineering works and the installation of equipment. In addition, the SITG (Greater Lyon tunnel information system), a new single system for managing safety in all Lyon's tunnels, was installed at the end of 2012 beneath the Fourvière tunnel.

Undertaken on a design-build basis, this contract, with a total value slightly over €200m, was awarded to a consortium headed by VINCI. It notably brings together, for the structural works, Dodin Campenon Bernard (VINCI Construction), leader, and Chantiers Modernes Rhône-Alpes (VINCI Construction France) as well as Spie Batignolles TPCI and, for the technical equipment, Cegelec Mobility (VINCI Energies GSS) and GTIE Transport (VINCI Energies France).
Entry into service of the structure is scheduled for late 2013.
