Renovation of the tramway in Nantes

Over the summer of 2016, the Nantes sector of ETF (Eurovia) renewed the tracks of the Nantes (west of France) tramway on Place du Commerce, the city’s busiest traffic area.

Commercial traffic was stopped for six weeks, and there was a series of ever-changing traffic diversions as the works advanced. In order to respect this six-week ‘shut-down’ – long for users but very short for the company given the nature and volume of the works – about 40 employees worked throughout the summer period on a 2/8 shift basis, with tasks programmed in quarter-hour slots.
Value of the works: €2.3m.
