Reinforcing the structure of the Tancarville Bridge

In Normandy, Nuvia Access is working in a joint venture with Freyssinet (both VINCI Construction), Sade and Toffolutti on the Tancarville suspension bridge, as part of a project to repair and reinforce its structure.

Nuvia Access has designed and is installing access towers and a complete suspended structure in order to access the underside of the deck. To protect the worksite environment, Nuvia Access has deployed heat-shrinkable film to act as a screen. Freyssinet, leader of the joint venture, is reinforcing the structure in several different ways, such as adding extra external prestressing and the use of carbon fibre fabric (TFC®). The works are due for completion in summer 2024.
