Redevelopment of the port of Valparaiso

The port of Valparaiso had suffered major damage following a powerful earthquake in 2015.

As part of the reconstruction process and to protect the port’s damaged infrastructure, Constructora Las Lilas called upon Tierra Armada Chile (Soletanche Freyssinet/VINCI Construction) to produce and deliver 248 prefabricated wall elements with swell deflectors which from now on protect the port from waves. Tierra Armada Chile has also prefabricated 1,600 concrete blocks that will be placed in front of the walls to absorb wave energy.

The works, lasting 11 months, were completed in September.
