Redeveloping a tram line

In central Poland, the city of Łódź has launched the reconstruction of a 6 km stretch of tram line which will be used by a new fast tram service. As part of this project, Soletanche Polska, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), has been charged with supplying 30,000 sq. metres of diaphragm wall, some 350 permanent tie rods, deep foundations for four viaducts and reinforced concrete capping beams.
Contract value: about €8m. Handover of the works is scheduled for late 2014.
