Recognition of quality of service to passengers

Operated by VINCI Airports (VINCI Concessions) since 2016, the Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Japan won Best Baggage Delivery and Best Low-Cost Airline Terminal at the Skytrax 2018 World Airport Awards.

In January 2017, VINCI Airports had opened an extension to the terminal for low-cost airlines to improve user experience and facilitate the deployment of the Smart Security system developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Airport Council International (ACI).

The focus on satisfying passengers was also the deciding factor when Singapore Airlines chose KIX to become the first destination of Boeing’s next generation B787-10 aircraft. Since 3 May 2018, it is used on the Kansai-Singapore-Kansai route.
