Rail Baltica project begins construction

The end of April marked the start of construction of the Rail Baltica rail infrastructure between Kaunas (Lithuania) and Latvia.

The work, carried out by Eurovia Lietuva (VINCI Construction), includes the creation of access roads to the site and, in the coming months, the construction of the railway. Sixteen new access roads near the future railway will be created to allow residents to access their plots, as well as two service roads that will be used for line maintenance - a total of 18.3 km. Eurovia Lietuva will also manage the creation of surface drainage networks and their connection to a pumping station. The work is to be completed by June 2023.
