Promoting car-sharing on motorways
1 April 2015 - Sustainability - France
VINCI Autoroutes (VINCI Concessions) and BlaBlaCar, the world leader in longdistance car-sharing, are working together to promote and encourage car-sharing on motorways by offering a dedicated electronic tolling deal. Known as “Temps libre covoiturage” (Leisure-time Ridesharing), this offer aims to facilitate car-sharing on the VINCI Autoroutes network for the 10 million members of BlaBlaCar. This new offer involves no management charges; it is available as of two longdistance car-sharing trips per month reserved on BlablaCar and undertaken on the VINCI Autoroutes network. To encourage car-sharing, VINCI Autoroutes is in addition providing 19 dedicated car parks (1,500 spaces) and planning to introduce secure areas where drivers and passengers can meet up in car parks in the vicinity of toll booths.
