23 December 2013 - New contracts - France

VINCI Concessions subsidiary Caraibus has just signed a 22-year partnership contract with Martinique’s transit authority (SMTCSP). The project involves installing, on the island’s busiest road, a transport system that, using a dedicated lane, will offer users a high-performance and regular bus service; it represents a total investment of €98.6m.

The contract covers the financing, design, construction and maintenance of the structures (stations, the Mahault and Carrère multimodal transport hubs, and the maintenance centre), and the financing, design and manufacture of the BRT buses and their on-board systems. The design and the implementation of the works have been awarded to Caraib Moter (a Eurovia subsidiary) and Sogea Martinique (VINCI Construction). The BRT buses, meanwhile, will be designed and built by Van Hool. Caraibus Maintenance, a VINCI Concessions subsidiary, will be responsible for the light and heavy maintenance. Caraibus will receive fees for the services it provides.
