10 October 2012 - Projects update and handover - Belgium

On 12 September 2012, in Belgium, CFE (VINCI Construction) laid the foundation stone for the new police headquarters building in Charleroi, which is being built on a public-private partnership basis. CFE is charged with the design, construction, financing and maintenance, for 25 years, of this new facility. Designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel and MDW Architecture, the building (41,800 sq. metres) comprises two wings and a 20-storey tower, and provides a rehearsal room for the Charleroi Danses choreography centre. This project represents an investment of €70.5m. The works will be undertaken by BPC Hainaut and CFE Brabant (two CFE entities). Nizet Entreprise and Druart (also CFE companies) will be supplying the maintenance, worth an annual €1.3m.
Handover is scheduled for November 2014.
