On the slopes of the Tourmalet pass

In the Hautes-Pyrénées department (south-west France), teams from Routière des Pyrénées (Eurovia) finished refurbishing the road over the Tourmalet pass (20 km), on behalf of the department’s General Council, on 4 July; it was used shortly afterwards during the 18th stageof the 2014 Tour de France. The installation of a special asphalt plant at Préchac meant the planed materials could be recovered and 50% of them recycled as aggregate and used to manufacture the new road surface.
Contract value: €3m.
