North interchange in Ouagadougou

On 15 November 2018, the President of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, inaugurated the North interchange in Ouagadougou.

The Ministry of Infrastructure had appointed Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network) to build this structure in the centre of Burkina Faso’s capital in order to relieve congestion on one of the city’s busiest traffic intersections.

Comprising 14 engineering structures, some on deep foundations and two located above a live railway track, the interchange also contributes to completing the ring road round the capital.

Launched in December 2015, the works took 35 months.
