On 11 May, VINCI Airports (VINCI Concessions) was awarded level 4 Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) for nine of its Portuguese airports: Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Ponta Delgada, Santa Maria, Horta, Flores, Madeira and Porto Santo.
The ACA level 4 attests to their transformation towards "zero net carbon emissions" for the operations directly under their responsibility, and underlines the cooperation with all stakeholders, including airlines, in reducing their scope 3 emissions. The Stakeholders Carbon Forum has been launched to engage all stakeholders in reducing their carbon footprint. VINCI Airports now has 12 airports accredited at level 4 (the nine airports in Portugal and the three Kansai Airports in Japan).
