Night-time renewal of road surface

From 4 to 22 May 2015, working at night, Eurovia’s Liants Sud-Ouest – ECF et Retraitements office renewed the surface (35,000 sq. metres of mix) of a 5 km-long stretch of the RD1089 in the west of France. Using the Recyclovia® process (in-situ cold recycling of the old surface) resulted in a saving of 4,000 t of aggregate and 90 t of asphalt as compared to a traditional application of hot mix. It also meant a reduction in the worksite’s greenhouse gas emissions of 382 t of CO2 equivalent. Environmental monitoring of the operation was carried out within the framework of the Life + programme, which co-funds projects benefiting the environment in the European Union.
