Modernising dams
24 November 2015 - Projects update and handover - France
The four VINCI Construction France companies making up the Corebam consortium have started modernising the 29 needle dams on the Aisne and Meuse rivers. Several of these structures are being replaced by rubber dams, a technique not previously used in France which involves using rubber tubes inflated with water to maintain a navigable water level. These works are being implemented within the framework of a partnership contract awarded by inland waterway transport authority Voies Navigables de France (VNF) to the BAMEO company (composed of VINCI Concessions, Shema – EDF Group and Méridiam). The new structures will then be operated by the SeMAO company (Shema and VINCI Concessions).
