Philippe Martin, French Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, chose the quarry in Gardanne of Durance Granulats (Eurovia) as the place to launch the ministerial conference on the concept of the circular economy. Considered as exemplary in this respect, this site has implemented Eurovia Méditerranée’s Granulat+ concept, which involves using the natural mineral resource as sparingly as possible when producing aggregate and, for example, recycling inert worksite rubble. Granulat+ recently received an award from the European quarry industry.
