Ministerial visit at exemplary worksite
6 January 2014 - Sustainability - France
On 6 January 2014, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, accompanied by Michel Sapin, Minister for Labour, Employment, Vocational Training and Social Dialogue, and Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, Minister for Women’s Rights and Government spokesperson, visited the Pavillon Dufour renovation project, currently being implemented by Lainé Delau and Degaine (VINCI Construction France) at the Château de Versailles. This worksite, where 30% of the workforce are women (including two being retrained), was selected for being exemplary as regards gender diversity at the workplace. It illustrates the pro-active approach of Lainé Delau, which became the first company in the construction sector to win the Equality label, in 2006 (a label renewed in 2009 and 2012). Of the company’s 420 employees, currently 57 are women, half of them in operational posts. In promoting the feminisation of the profession, this approach fulfils one of the commitments of the VINCI Manifesto: “Together, foster equality and diversity”.
