Manuel Valls visits Link Building worksite at Paris-Orly
18 May 2016 - Events - France
VINCI raised the first frame at the construction site for the building that will link the South and West terminals at Paris-Orly Airport on 13 May, watched by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Augustin de Romanet, Chairman & CEO of the Aéroports de Paris Group, and Xavier Huillard, Chairman & CEO of VINCI.
This was the first major architectural milestone on this project, on which VINCI Construction France and its Chantiers Modernes Construction and Bateg subsidiaries have been working, on a general contracting basis, since April 2015. Several other VINCI companies are also participating: Soletanche Bachy (VINCI Construction) will supply the 396 foundation piles for the new structure, Eurovia will be involved in the under-paving networks, and several VINCI Energies business units will be directing the technical work teams.
On completion of the works, the new link building (surface area: 80,000 sq. metres) will enable the airport to handle an additional 3.5 million passengers a year.
