Launch of works in London Borough of Hounslow

The highways works in the London Borough of Hounslow were launched in January 2013. Since March 2012, Ringway (Eurovia) has been preparing the works of this PFI (Private Finance Initiative), awarded to Hounslow Highways Services, a joint venture formed by VINCI Concessions and Barclays Infrastructure Funds, which covers the upgrade, upkeep and maintenance for 25 years of the highways, i.e. 432 km of roadways and 763 km of pavements. The construction and renovation of the roads and pavements should be completed in 2018. During the first two years, some 16,000 streetlights will be replaced with LED streetlights. Particular attention will also be devoted to enhancing the street environment, and to street cleansing, and the urban furniture will be renewed.
