Irrigation of a rice-growing area

Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network) has just been awarded the Mwea Irrigation Development Project, which aims to double annual production on 7,200 hectares of existing rice fields, by the National Irrigation Board.

Sogea-Satom’s task will involve creating over 45 km of concrete channels and drains, 12 km of access routes and 2,100 sq. metres of agricultural buildings. The works, due to start in November 2016, will take 38 months.
Contract value: €31m.
