Innovating for a sustainable management of urban lighting

In the Côte-d’Or department (central France), Siceco, the intercommunal energy authority, appointed Citéos Dijon (VINCI Energies France) to install "intelligent" urban lighting in the commune of Talant. This pilot project uses LED technology and presence detection for the lighting of a road. The optical components of the LED equipment enable the luminous flux to be concentrated on the road to be lit, thus reducing light pollution and making the installation more effective. In addition, highly sensitive directional sensors have been placed at both ends of the road: all vehicles, can thus be detected and will activate the lighting. Compared with a conventional installation, this approach results in an energy saving of 75%.
