Inauguration Lights over the Schuman Bridge in Lyon
5 November 2014 - Events - France
On 5 November 2014, the Schuman Bridge was formally opened with a Son et Lumière show, in the presence of Gérard Collomb, senator and mayor of Lyon (central France) and president of Greater Lyon. This bridge (length: 180 m; width: 31 m), of the double bow-string type, provides a new link over the Saône between the 4th and 9th arrondissements for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. The works were carried out in 23 months by a consortium comprising GTM TP Lyon, leader, in association with Tournaud, in charge of the river works (both are VINCI Construction France subsidiaries), Cordioli for the steel structure and Citeos Lyon (VINCI Energies France) for the lighting. The design and planning work for the bridge supports was supplied by VINCI Construction France’s Structures Engineering design office. Worth €20m, the project was implemented on behalf of Greater Lyon.
