Improving safety on the Les Egratz road

ATMB and Ingérop have appointed a joint venture composed of VINCI Construction Terrassement (leader), its subsidiary Benedetti-Guelpa and Acro BTP to improve the safety of the RN 205 near the commune of Passy (south-east France).

Here, over a distance of 1.2 km, the RN 205, on its way down from Chamonix, is cantilevered, built on concrete slabs overhanging the cliff. The project involves widening the roadway and renovating the road restraint systems which have become damaged over time. The main challenge facing the teams is the dismantling of the old road and the laying of the new prefabricated slabs of reinforced concrete in limited space and to very tight deadlines. The works are organised in five phases and are spread across the spring and autumn seasons of 2019, 2020 and 2021.
