Hydroelectric works in Isère

Dodin Campenon Bernard (VINCI Construction), in a joint venture with Chantiers Modernes Rhône-Alpes (VINCI Construction France), has won the contract for the hydroelectric development of the waterfall in Romanche-Gavet (Isère department, south-east France). The civil engineering works will involve building an intake tunnel (length: 9,200 m), a surge tank (height: 180 m), a steel-lined shaft, the main power plant and an underground chamber for the transformers. The works, worth 107.5 million euros, will take 70 months to complete. On the same project, Campenon Bernard Régions (VINCI Construction France) has been appointed to create the water intake for the Gavet dam (picture above), project value: 9.2 million euros.
