18 April 2013 - New contracts - France

The authority responsible for waste processing in the Hautes-Pyrénées department has just awarded a consortium led by VINCI Environnement (VINCI Construction France) the design, construction and operation of its facility for the mechanical-biological pre-treatment, with methanisation, of household and similar waste, to be sited in the eco-park in Bordères-sur-l'Echez, near Tarbes. After the sorting stage, the waste, depending on its category, will be recycled in the form of biogas, energy or compost.

VINCI Environnement is charged with the design and construction of the entire process, and Veolia Propreté with the operation of the site for a period of five years. Other Group companies are participating in the project: Sogea Sud-Ouest Hydraulique (VINCI Construction France) for the civil engineering works and La Routière des Pyrénées (Eurovia) for the external works works package. Due to come on-stream by 2016, this installation represents an investment of €46.7m.
