1 May 2016 - New contracts - Malaysia

VINCI Construction Grands Projets has just won a third contract on the island of Borneo. After the Menara Hap Seng tower, delivered in November 2015, and the Jesselton complex, where the structure of the first tower is almost complete, this third contract involves building a hotel complex, 30 km to the north of Kota Kinabalu.
This new project is being undertaken on behalf of a Malaysian investor aiming to develop the Alila luxury hotel franchise and the ‘boutique hotel’ concept. It concerns a 6-storey, 152-room hotel on the seafront. 250 m in length, this structure is inspired by longhouses, the traditional type of dwelling on Borneo. The project also includes the construction of two annex buildings, to house a spa and restaurants. The works start in mid-April and should take 22 months.
Contract value: €25m.
