22 April 2016 - Projects update and handover - France

After more than 40 months of works, VINCI Construction Dom-Tom is now completing the Fort-de-France teaching hospital (CHU) project, in preparation for its handover in June. This new hospital building, with a surface area of over 40,000 sq. metres and with high-quality technical support facilities, has been created by Sogea Martinique (leader) and SIMP (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom subsidiaries) on the construction side, and Cegelec Espace & Défense (VINCI Energies France) for the electrical and climate control works packages. In order to ensure the establishment can continue to function in the event of an earthquake, the building’s structure has been built over an array of 300 isolators, enabling it to be totally disconnected from its foundations, and 36 shock absorbers positioned parallel to the façades.
Project value: €110m.
