Further milestone passed for the Aqualagon
1 July 2017 - Projects update and handover - France
In the Seine-et-Marne department (Paris region), teams from Arbonis (VINCI Construction France) deployed on the worksite for the Aqualagon, the future biggest water park in Europe, have finished installing the ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced concrete steps and the nets in polypropylene and stainless steel of the Air Tower.
Having completed the steel structure of this tower and the pouring of its concrete landings in late March 2017, in mid-May the company undertook the project’s last major lifting operation: the positioning of the wooden mesh facing. The structural works/envelope works package for the construction of the Aqualagon was supplied by Chantiers Modernes Construction (VINCI Construction France), leader of the joint venture.
This covered aquatic centre with its geothermally-heated lagoons is scheduled to open to the public in late July 2017. It forms part of the new Villages Nature Paris ecotourism complex operated by Pierre et Vacances - Center Parcs and Euro Disney SCA. More than a million visitors are expected per year.
Value of the operation: €40m for Chantiers Modernes Construction and €11.2m for Arbonis.
