Soletanche Polska, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), has been appointed to excavate the foundation pit for the future World War II museum in Gdansk. Involving a total surface area of 14,600 sq. metres, this excavation will extend down to 15 m below the groundwater table. In order to limit the inflow of water, Soletanche Polska will supply a 12,500 sq. metre diaphragm wall, a temporary concrete plug and 925 25 m-deep anchoring micropiles, and dredge 195,000 cu. metres of spoil.
Worth €19m, the works will take seven months to complete.
